The 2021 MLB trade deadline was a wild one and saw some big names go elsewhere. Among them, two of the biggest were Max Scherzer and Trea Turner. The talented duo went from the Washington Nationals to the Los Angeles Dodgersin a huge blockbuster deal, although the San Diego Padres were heavily interested in acquiring Scherzer.

According to Jon Heyman of MLB Network, the Padres actually made an attempt at bringing Turner back to San Diego.

That would have been interesting. Of course, Turner was in the Padres organization before a huge blockbuster sent him to the Nationals and sent Wil Myers from the Tampa Bay Rays to the Padres in a three-team, 10-player deal with Myers and Turner being the highlights.
