The Clemson Tigers are staring at three options for the quarterback position for the Class of 2024.

Option 1: Take a commitment from an under-the-radar, developmental prospect to round out depth. Think Chase Brice, the three-star prospect in the Class of 2017 who recently finished his career at Appalachian State.

Option 2: Flip a blue-chip prospect who is already committed to another program.

Option 3: Pass on a quarterback this cycle.

The second option isn’t likely. The first or third would probably be OK with Dabo Swinney.

If it seems difficult to comprehend that Clemson would be content not signing a top QB in any cycle — especially since it’s a program that does not rely on the transfer portal — you first must consider the way the Tigers have recruited the sport’s most important position in recent years.
