The San Diego Padres' attempts to lock up pitcher Joe Musgrove aren't off to a great start.

Musgrove – a pending free agent – and the Padres appear to be at an impasse following early-season extension negotiations, sources told Ken Rosenthal and Dennis Lin of The Athletic.
