The Mariners secured a 6-2 victory Saturday to split the 1st 2 games of the series. It was just their 3rd win in the last 10 games. They sit in 4th place in the AL West 10 games behind the Texas Rangers. The M’s have gone 12-9 within the division and 14-17 on the road.

LA sits in 3rd place in the division 7 1/2 games behind the Rangers. The Halos have won 6 of 10 and are a solid 19-14 at home. They are just 11-11 within the division though.

Seattle is a team you can count on for runs while the Angels are wishy-washy. Seattle has scored at least 3 runs in 6 straight games. They also allowed 10 runs in 3 of those. Gilbert has been decent with a 3.53 ERA in his last 7 starts and one of those was a 5 ER in 4 IP stinker. The last time he faced the Angels (Sept. 19) he struck out 11 and allowed 1 ER in 6 IP. I look for him to lead the M’s to a victory.

Run line/Against the spread

The Angels are a little out of my comfort zone at -165 for a run of insurance.

Instead I like LOGAN GILBERT OVER 5.5 K’s (-110). He has 6+ K’s in 5 of his last 7 starts and 4 of 5 against the Halos.

Over/Under

It’s 67 degrees with a light 7-mph breeze heading out to left-center. However I don’t feel like things will get out of hand to clear 9 runs. The Under has cashed in Canning’s last 4 starts at home. The Under has cashed in 2 of the last 3 between the teams.
