The Mets have added to their pitching depth.

On Tuesday, the Mets claimed right-handed pitcher Seth Elledge off waivers from the Atlanta Braves.

The Mets then optioned Elledge to Triple-A Syracuse. In order to make room for him on the 40-man roster, New York moved Jose Quintana (rib surgery) to the 60-day IL.
