New York Yankees right-hander Frankie Montas said he "wasn't 100%" healthy when he was acquired in a trade-deadline deal with the Oakland Athletics last season.

"I was trying to push through. I got traded to a new team and wanted to show what I could do," Montas said, according to MLB.com's Bryan Hoch.

"Things didn't go the way I was expecting."
