Houston Astros third baseman Alex Bregman admits the idea of testing free agency holds some appeal to him.

“I mean, yeah,” Bregman said Monday when asked if hitting the open market is attractive to him, according to the Houston Chronicle’s Chandler Rome.

Bregman is eligible for free agency at the conclusion of the 2024 campaign. The 28-year-old has two seasons remaining on the five-year, $100-million extension he inked with the team in 2019.

Bregman is keeping an open mind when it comes to where his future might lie.
