Alex Cora was nearly fired as bench coach for the Astros before he became the Red Sox manager, then bragged about cheating to win the 2017 World Series, according to details in a new book, “Winning Fixes Everything.”

The book, published by HarperCollins and written by former Herald scribe Evan Drellich, comes out on Feb. 14.

Reached on Thursday, Cora declined to comment on the new allegations.
