The Texas Rangers added another big name to their rotation, agreeing to a two-year, $34-million contract with free-agent right-hander Nathan Eovaldi, sources told ESPN’s Jeff Passan.
The deal, which is pending a physical, includes a vesting player option for 2025, Passan reports. Eovaldi also reportedly gets a series of performance bonuses that can increase the contract’s total value.
Eovaldi, a native of Alvin, Texas, is the latest addition to a revamped Rangers rotation. Texas added two-time Cy Young winner Jacob deGrom and veteran left-hander Andrew Heaney earlier this month.
