The Giants have gotten some good results from left-handed reliever Alex Young, but they're still in need of help from that side of their bullpen and on Wednesday they potentially added another option.
Left-handed pitcher Andrew Vasquez was claimed off waivers from the Philadelphia Phillies and assigned to Triple-A Sacramento. To clear a 40-man roster spot, the Giants DFA'd outfielder Steele Walker, who was claimed from the Texas Rangers 10 days ago. Walker had played in five games for the River Cats and gone 3-for-18 with one homer.
