Saturday was quite a special day for both St. Louis Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina and former San Francisco Giants catcher Buster Posey.
The Giants celebrated the career of Posey ahead of their home matchup against the Cardinals, where they commemorated his run in San Francisco with a pre-game ceremony. On the other hand, Molina logged the 1,000th RBI of his career during the second inning of the game.
On Posey’s part, he has long admired Molina’s lengthy run in the majors, establishing himself as one of the more potent catchers in recent baseball memory.
Posey took some time to speak during NBC Sports Bay Area’s coverage of the clash between the Giants and Cardinals, where he touched on just what makes Molina a catcher who is simply “built differently.”
