The New York Yankees could utilize Aroldis Chapman in a different role in 2022. The flame throwing left-hander is not getting demoted, but reporter Bryan Hoch recently reported that New York might opt to use him in lower-leverage situations and match him up with left-handed batters at times this year. 

Hoch shared a video on twitter discussing the Yankees plan for Chapman moving forward. 

“Aroldis Chapman, eighth inning guy? Kind of, sort of, maybe, but not really.”

Hoch continued. 

“Chapman will need to be ready to work the eighth inning on occasion this year.
