Louisiana Tech Bulldogs’ linebacker Brevin Randle just committed one of the ugliest and most disturbing cheap shots you’ll ever see in the game of football.
During the Bulldog’s Friday night road game against UTEP, Randle stomped on the head of Miners’ offensive lineman Steven Hubbard.
This is one of the most dangerous maneuvers you can pull in football, and there’s simply no place in the game for it, and a suspension most certainly awaits Randle. Given the danger of that move, though, nobody should be surprised if he’s suspended for the remainder of the year.
In a 2006 game against the Dallas Cowboys, Tennessee Titans’ defensive lineman Albert Haynesworth infamously stomped on the head of Dallas center Andre Gurode. Haynesworth was suspended five games for the incident.
That was considered a strict and heavy punishment back in 2006. But in today’s game, that oughta be a season-long suspension. Or longer.
The Miners entered play on Friday with a 1-4 record, having lost three consecutive games. As for the Bulldogs, they came into this contest with a 2-3 record after falling to the Nebraska Cornhuskers last week.
