The Ottawa Senators made a big splash to kick off the Canada Day weekend.
The Senators went into free agency Saturday with a priority of shoring up their goaltending for next season and they achieved their goal by signing veteran goalie Joonas Korpisalo to a five-year, $20 million deal.
Korpisalo, 29, who was dealt to the Los Angeles Kings at last year’s trade deadline by the Columbus Blue Jackets, has been on the Senators radar screen for a long time and he’ll make $4 million per-season while helping to shore up the club’s goaltending with Anton Forsberg.
