The Philadelphia Phillies and the Seattle Mariners meet in MLB action from T-Mobile Park on Wednesday afternoon.

The Philadelphia Phillies come into this one looking to bounce back from a sluggish effort against Seattle on Tuesday. Heading into Tuesday’s matchup, Nick Castellanos leads the Phillies with 32 hits, along with 17 RBIs and a .311 batting average and 8 doubles. Bryce Harper also has 8 doubles and 6 home runs and Kyle Schwarber has a team-high 7 homers and 16 RBIs. Harper also has a team-high 19 RBIs and J.T. Realmuto has a .265 batting average for the Phils this season. The Phillies did not have a starting pitcher announced at the time that this article was posted.

The Seattle Mariners will try to build on a solid showing from Tuesday’s game against the Phillies and build some sustainable momentum in this one. Heading into Tuesday’s matchup, Ty France leads the Mariners with 37 hits along with 5 home runs and 22 RBIs while Adam Frazier has 28 hits and 6 doubles. Eugenio Suarez also has a team-high 6 doubles with 6 homers of his own and 17 RBIs while J.P. Crawford has 33 hits, 4 homers and 6 doubles as well as a .340 batting average. Logan Gilbert will start this one for the Mariners and is 4-0 with a 1.36 ERA and 33 strikeouts this season.

I can understand the case to be made for the Phillies as the Mariners just had not been playing very well prior to a solid showing on Tuesday. However, I think the Mariners are finally starting to wake up a little bit, and maybe the extra kick in the butt they needed will come in the form of a start from Logan Gilbert who had pretty much been lights out up to this point in the season. I just think that the Mariners have the better pitcher here regardless of who the Phillies tab as their starter on Wednesday, so give me Seattle in this one behind another strong outing from Logan Gilbert.
