After five seasons on the job, Cuonzo Martin is out as Missouri's coach, according to multiple media reports and confirmed by CBS Sports' Matt Norlander. Missouri's season ended with a 76-68 loss to LSU in the second round of the SEC Tournament on Thursday. The move comes after a 12-21 (5-13 SEC) season for the Tigers, who made two NCAA Tournament appearances during Martin's tenure. The former Tennessee and California coach departs with an 78-77 mark during his time with the program.

Martin left Cal after three seasons to replace Kim Anderson after Anderson's three-year run that saw the Tigers go just 27-68 (8-46 SEC). Given the status of things upon his arrival, Martin overachieved by getting his first team to the 2018 NCAA Tournament. That team finished 20-13 (10-8 SEC) and earned a No. 8 seed for the Big Dance before bowing out with a loss to Florida State in the first round.
