The Jets are hoping one Lawson can replace another.

The team on Sunday acquired defensive end Shaq Lawson from the Texans in exchange for a 2022 sixth-round pick, according to a source.

Lawson should help fill the hole left on the Jets defense when pass rusher Carl Lawson ruptured his left Achilles’ tendon two weeks ago and was lost for the season.

The two are unrelated.

Shaq Lawson, 27, is in his sixth season out of Clemson.
