After having not played each other in well over a generation, college football fans are getting an exciting home-and-home series between Miami and BYU.
Miami will host BYU at Hard Rock Stadium on Sept. 19, 2026. BYU will then host the Hurricanes in Provo, Utah on Sept. 2, 2028.
“We are excited to add BYU to our future football schedule,” Director of Athletics Blake James said in a release. “We remain committed to scheduling top programs for our non-conference games and showcasing The U across the country.”
The last time the Miami Hurricanes faced the BYU Cougars in the gridiron was in 1990 when No. 16 BYU upset No. 1 Miami 28-21 in Provo. This was during the first wave of “The U” in Coral Gables. Cougars quarterback Ty Detmer went on to win the Heisman Trophy during that season. Miami will welcome BYU to Miami Gardens in 2026, with BYU hosting Miami in Provo in 2028.
