The New York Jets continue to find new and creative ways to draw mockery from fans online. The latest reason comes courtesy of Cleveland Browns quarterback Joe Flacco.
Flacco, a former Jets QB, led the Browns to a 37-20 win Thursday night at Cleveland Browns Stadium in Cleveland, Ohio.
Flacco picked the Jets apart early with 34 points and 3 touchdowns in the first half alone. The 38-year-old finished 19/29 for 309 yards with 3 TDs and 1 interception. The Jets had Flacco as a backup QB from 2020 to 2022 but opted not to bring him back this season.
Several fans on X were quick to ridicule the Jets for not grabbing Flacco again when they had the chance.

The Jets deserve this for not signing Joe Flacco when they had forever to do so.

Jets fans are living a NIGHTMARE. Watching the QB they could have signed after Aaron Rodger’s injury BALL OUT and lead the Browns to the playoffs. And Joe Flacco wanted to sign with the Jets before the Browns ever came calling. Dang. pic.twitter.com/hndiSp2SKA

The Browns brought in the former Super Bowl MVP last month after a season-ending shoulder injury to Deshaun Watson. After losing his first game as the Browns’ starter in Week 13 against the Los Angeles Rams, Flacco has now led the Browns to four straight wins and a playoff berth.
The Jets also had to deal with a (sort-of) season-ending injury to their QB1 Aaron Rodgers. But instead of re-signing Flacco, they’ve gone 6-10 with a revolving QB room consisting of Zach Wilson, Tim Boyle, and Trevor Siemian.
Flacco opened up about not receiving any NFL offers earlier in the season. Now, he’s the toast of the Cleveland football world.
