The College Football Playoffs have had their fair share of faces every year. However, since its inception in the 2014 season, there’s only been one playoff where neither Georgia nor Alabama were participants (2019). As of now, both are heavy favorites to win the National Championship, but here’s why neither will even make the Final Four.

Going and winning back-to-back national titles isn’t easy, but that’s exactly what the Georgia Bulldogs have done. Their run has been impressive to say the least, going through the likes of Alabama, Ohio State, and TCU to get both of their championships. They’ve had numerous defensive players drafted over the past couple of years, including Nolan Smith, Jalen Carter, Jordan Davis, Travon Walker, and many other players on NFL rosters.

At some point, the cupboard runs a little dry. That’s not to say that Georgia is on a downtrend for recruiting, but they’ve lost their quarterback who led them to their championship wins in Stetson Bennett.
