North Carolina’s star quarterback Drake Maye, projected to be one of the top picks in next year’s NFL Draft, will kick off his 2023 season in ABC’s Saturday night primetime game on Sept. 2 when the Tar Heels face border foe South Carolina in Charlotte.

ABC’s Week 2 primetime game features new Wisconsin coach Luke Fickell visiting Washington State, while Week 3 will spotlight the Pittsburgh-West Virginia Backyard Brawl.

ESPN, Fox and other networks unveiled their early season college football selections Wednesday. Deion Sanders-led Colorado appears in Fox’s first two Big Noon Kickoff games, Sept. 2 at TCU and Sept. 9 vs. Nebraska. Penn State at Illinois gets that slot on Sept. 16.

The Big Ten’s new partnerships with CBS and NBC begin this fall. CBS, which does not air an SEC game until Week 3 (South Carolina at Georgia), will debut Sept. 2 with Ohio State at Indiana at 3:30 p.m, and is also airing Northwestern–Rutgers that Sunday at Noon ET. NBC previously announced it will air West Virginia at Penn State that night.
