Zac Gallen will man the mound for the D-Backs tonight. He’s a right-handed pitcher who has struck out over 28% of batters this year.
Gallen’s in line to face a Mariners lineup that has struck out 27.2% of the time against righties since last season. Only Josh Rojas and Ty France have limited strikeouts to 21% or lower. The rest are high strikeout targets for Gallen.
Meanwhile, Gallen has also held teams to a .125 ISO and wOBA of .310. He’s done much better than just earning strikeouts.
The Right-Handed Bats Should Come Alive!
Seattle will pitch Emerson Hancock, who has backward splits. He’s been tremendous against lefties but has struggled against righties despite being a right-handed pitcher.
Still, Hancock figures to face five righties in the Arizona lineup. Those righties have also hit a .176 ISO and wOBA of.327 against righties since last season, which is respectable.
