Some people questioned if trading Tyreek Hill during the 2022 offseason was the start to the downfall of the Kansas City Chiefs offense. Those doubters were proved wrong as Patrick Mahomes won his second MVP award and the team took home the Lombardi Trophy for the second time in four years.
As the team prepares for the 2023 season, some more adjustments to the offense are going to be needed. JuJu Smith-Schuster and Mecole Hardman both left in free agency, signing with the New England Patriots and New York Jets, respectively.
There is still plenty of talent left at the wide receiver position for Mahomes to rely on. Last season’s free agent signing, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, remains on the roster. The organization has high hopes for young pass catchers Kadarius Toney and Skyy Moore to take that next step in their development.
