Former Texas Tech wing Jaylon Tyson is transferring to Cal, he announced on social media Monday. Here’s what you need to know:

Tyson has appeared in 39 total games over two seasons, averaging 8.8 points and 5.1 rebounds. 

As a sophomore last season, Tyson was eighth in rebounding in the Big 12.

He was the eighth-best transfer available in The Athletic’s rankings as of Monday.

Texas Tech went 16-16 in 2022-23 under coaches Mark Adams and Corey Williams. Adams resigned in early March.
