LSU landed its biggest commitment of the cycle Wednesday as top-100 tight end Trey’Dez Green (Jackson, La.) chose Brian Kelly and the Tigers over multiple SEC rivals. Here’s what you need to know:
Green — the No. 57 player in the country, per the 247Sports Composite — is a 6-foot-6, 240-pound tight end with elite receiving skills.
He had offers from a number of other programs, including Alabama, Miami, Tennessee and Texas A&M.

How big is this for the Tigers?
This commitment is crucial for LSU on multiple fronts. For starters, tight end was the biggest hole on LSU’s roster when Kelly took over as coach last year. Now, thanks to Mason Taylor breaking out as a freshman, LSU signing three tight ends in 2023 and now Green joining four-star Tayvion Galloway in 2024, LSU’s overhaul at tight end seems to be nearly complete.
