Andy Robertson claimed to have been elbowed by an assistant referee in Liverpool’s Premier League draw with Arsenal.

As Liverpool trailed 2-1 at half-time at Anfield, Robertson angrily approached official Constantine Hatzidakis, who raised his arm and appeared to strike the defender in the face.

Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson signalled to referee Paul Tierney that his teammate had been elbowed by his fellow official, as Reds players furiously protested.

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher took to Twitter to complain shortly after the incident, saying: “Linesman elbow on Robertson!”
