UCLA has hired former longtime Navy coach Ken Niumatalolo as the football team’s director of leadership, coach Chip Kelly announced Friday. Here’s what you need to know:

Niumatalolo was fired by Navy in December, departing as the winningest coach in program history with a 109-83 record through 15 seasons with the Midshipmen.

He will serve as an adviser to UCLA’s football staff and players in the new role.

Navy went 11-23 over the last three seasons and has had one winning season over the last five years.
