Texas Tech has expressed serious interest in Rick Pitino for its head coaching vacancy, a source told CBS Sports' Jon Rothstein.

The 70-year-old has spent the past three seasons at Iona, where he's guided the Gaels to a 62-21 mark and an NCAA Tournament appearance.

Pitino is the only bench boss to lead three different schools to the Final Four.
