The relationship between New York and Los Angeles is well-documented. It hasn’t always been a positive one, even in NBA history.
If you were alive in the 1990s, you know what we’re talking about. Rappers from each city released too many “diss tracks” against each other to keep track of.
In some ways, the two biggest cities in America have always been in the midst of some type of cultural war.
It hasn’t necessarily translated to the NBA. The Los Angeles Lakers have done their part. This team has made itself a mainstay in the NBA Finals in multiple decades.
Unfortunately, we can’t say the same for the Knicks. On the other hand, this season, the Knicks are outperforming their coastal rivals. This team may actually be on the brink of title contention.
Could they make an all-in push for Anthony Davis of the Lakers this summer?
