Over his 10-year career so far, NBA point guard Damian Lillard has never abandoned his city. Since being drafted by the Blazers in 2012, he has committed everything to win in Portland and continues to stay loyal to the franchise despite a lack of postseason success.
And while fans and experts have been clamoring for him to leave the Blazers, Lillard is tired of others trying to tell him what to do with his career. In his recent appearance on #THISLEAGUE Uncut, Lillard spoke about the campaign to get him out of Oregon and explained once again why he's not content with ring chasing.
"I think it speaks to the way the game has changed… I think it's about the outside pressure of 'you need a ring, you need a championship.' It's tough out here. It's tough in the league right now with the access people have to us through social media. And it leads to guys doing whatever they need to do to win. I think people just love discussing what I should do because they love to things mixed up, they love the drama and it does get irritating sometimes because like everybody's telling me what I need to do and what I should do as if they actually care."
