Every year, the NBA’s trade deadline is an exciting day. February 9th ought to be no exception this season.

At the same time, most years, a big deal or two goes down ahead of the deadline. Call it a primer. Usually, two teams reach an agreement before the last possible moment.

This season, the Brooklyn Nets and Dallas Mavericks gave us that early blockbuster. The Nets sent Kyrie Irving to the Dallas Mavericks in exchange for Spencer Dinwiddie, Dorrian Finney-Smith, and draft capital. It was the type of deal that alters the landscape of the NBA.

It won’t be the only one to go down this year. During the last week when trades can occur, we should expect a flurry of movement.

Even if there isn’t another blockbuster before the 9th, some big deals should go down on the day of the deadline.

Here are three that we think are realistic.
