About Last Night

Spurs stun the Nets
The Spurs were 5.5-point home underdogs against the Nets last night, but ran out with a 106-98 win over a team that began the day with more than twice as many wins as they had. Joel Embiid scored 41 points as the 76ers beat the Clippers 120-110.

Canadiens take down the Jets
The Canadiens are finding some form in the NHL and will have turned some heads with Tuesday’s 4-1 win over the Winnipeg Jets. The Blackhawks and Coyotes were another pair of struggling teams to bank valuable wins, over the Sabres and Red Wings respectively.

Jayhawks lose in overtime
#1 Houston had no trouble covering in an 80-60 win over Tulane, but the #2 Kansas Jayhawks were upset by rivals the Kansas State Wildcats, losing 83-82 in overtime to leave both teams with 16-2 records.

Today’s Slate

9-game slate in the NBA
Today’s 9-game NBA slate includes 2 games on ESPN with the Hawks facing the Mavericks at 7:30 pm ET. The Timberwolves then play the Nuggets at 10:00 pm ET.

TNT hockey doubleheader
There are only 5 NHL games today but that includes a TNT doubleheader featuring Bruins vs Islanders at 7:30 pm ET and Stars vs Sharks at 10:00 pm ET.

Top NCAAB teams in action
There are plenty of interesting games on the college hardwood tonight with UConn, Xavier and TCU all in action, plus a Tigers vs Tigers battle between Auburn and LSU.

NCAAB: Providence Friars +7.5 over Marquette Golden Eagles

The Friars of Providence invade Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee looking to bounce back after a 73-67 setback at Creighton on Saturday. That loss snapped a 9-game winning streak which included a 103-98 victory in overtime in Providence as a 1-point underdog. While the Friars failed to grab the cover in Omaha against the Bluejays, Providence is an impressive 9-1 ATS mark across the past 10 games overall. The Friars are catching 7.5 points, and they’re 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games as an underdog, while winning 4 of those games outright.
