The Arizona Cardinals fired head coach Kliff Kingsbury after the team missed the playoffs. Kingsbury and the Cardinals parted ways after they lost to the San Francisco 49ers, the team announced Monday. Arizona finished the season 4-13.
Soon afterward, it was announced Arizona general manager Steve Keim also stepped down from his post to focus on his health, the team said.
Kingsbury could end up on another NFL coaching staff as soon as next season. Per Bruce Feldman, he’s heard chatter that McVay could hire Kingsbury if McVay decides to coach for another season.
“Something to keep an eye on with the Cards firing Kliff Kingsbury: Heard some talk this weekend in coaching circles that IF Sean McVay stays with the Rams, Kliff may come back to LA (he was on staff at USC for a quick minute before the Cards hired him) joining the Rams staff,” said Bruce Feldman.
