PICKWISE

Good morning Pickswise Nation and welcome to another busy day of sports. We have big slates in the NBA and NHL today, plus college football bowl games, college basketball and soccer, so let’s get straight to making your next bet better!

About Last Night

Chargers clinch playoff place
The Los Angeles Chargers punched a ticket to the playoffs for the first time since 2018 with a 20-3 win over the Indianapolis Colts last night. The Chiefs have already won the AFC West, but 3 straight wins have earned the Chargers a wild-card spot with 2 games to spare. They have Super Bowl odds of +2800 at FanDuel Sportsbook.

Nets win streak reaches 9 games
The Nets were underdogs at Cleveland last night despite going into the game after 8 straight wins, but they made it 9 quite comfortably, winning 125-117. The Clippers were made to work hard for a win over the Pistons, winning 142-131 in overtime.

Aggies quick off the mark
The Mexico State Aggies won Monday’s college football bowl game, the Quick Lane Bowl, 24-19 over the Bowling Green Falcons. The Aggies had been 4-point underdogs for the game but raced into a 14-0 halftime lead and could not be caught.

Today’s Slate

Knicks vs Mavericks on NBA TV
There are 10 NBA games tonight, with NBA TV showing Knicks vs Mavericks at 8:30 pm ET.

Bowl games all day
We have a full 12 hours of college football bowl games today, starting with Georgia Southern vs Buffalo in the Camellia Bowl on ESPN at noon ET, and running through to Wisconsin vs Oklahoma State in the Guaranteed Rate Bowl at 10:15pm ET, also on ESPN.

11-game NHL slate
We have 11 games left in the NHL today after Sabres vs Blue Jackets was postponed. Maple Leafs vs Blues, Wild vs Jets and Golden Knights vs Kings are among the top matchups.

Best Bet of the Day

NBA: Under 238.5 points in Charlotte Hornets vs Golden State Warriors
10:00 pm ET

There were 233 points scored in the first meeting of the season between these teams, and it took overtime for them to get there. These teams have been notorious for going under the total in their recent meetings, with 9 of the last 10 cashing on that bet. An average of just 214.6 points per game were scored during that period, while the 3 most recent games saw just 215.6 points scored per game. Golden State is 6-9 on the O/U at home this season and just held the Grizzlies to 109 points in a convincing home win.
