Cale Makar played with a burr under his saddle last night. At the end of regulation against the New York Rangers, Makar shot the puck on goal a second or two after the final horn sounded. That immediately set Mika Zibanejad into action, skating over to Makar and trying to give him a shove or two and a facewash.

Makar would have none of it. He gave Zibanejad a hard jab of his stick into his legs, and gave a shove to his face with a glove. About 40 seconds prior, Makar was foiled on what would have been the game-winner by Rangers goalie Igor Shesterkin. Makar made a great, patented move creating more space for himself in slot area and tried to pick the right hand corner with a shot, in overtime.
