A happy home makes for a functioning home. When everyone’s getting along, everything runs more smoothly. NBA teams are no different.
Think about it. Let’s say you beat your partner home from work. There are dishes in the sink. You’re tired from a long day of work, but they will be too. Are the dishes less likely to get done if you’ve been fighting recently?
Teammates don’t need to be best friends. For that matter, at times, enough talent can even compensate for tension. Still, as a general rule, happy players make for more productive players.
If that’s true, the Phoenix Suns may have a problem. Deandre Ayton does not appear to be happy, and who can blame him? These Phoenix Suns dragged their feet in offering him an extension this summer.
It shouldn’t come as a shock to anybody if this situation appears toxic before long.
In the event that it does, here’s a deal that sends Ayton to the Toronto Raptors before the trade deadline.
Phoenix Suns Receive: F OG Anunoby, F/C Chris Boucher, F/C Khem Birch
Toronto Raptors Receive: C Deandre Ayton, F Jae Crowder
