By now, we’re in the dog days of summer. Step outside, and take a walk. Depending on where you live, you’re likely to notice a change in the breeze. Fall is coming. If you’re an NBA fan, that’s not such a bad thing.
It means NBA basketball will be returning shortly. At the same time, the offseason has its own charms.
This year’s offseason has been interesting – in some ways, for what hasn’t happened as much as for what has. Kevin Durant’s trade request dominated the headlines this summer. Now that he’s rescinded it, it’s hard to say how the league’s landscape will shape up heading into the 2022-23 season.
Donovan Mitchell is still on the market. Isn’t he? Given how long negotiations seem to be taking, it’s hard to say for sure.
On the other hand, with some creativity, it’s easy enough to imagine any number of league-altering deals transpiring in the summer’s remaining days.
Here are three we think could be interesting.
Mo Bamba To Houston Rockets
Orlando Magic Receive: F David Nwaba, F Kenyon Martin Jr., 2023 1st Round Pick (MIL via HOU)
Houston Rockets Receive: C Mo Bamba
By the time this deal can even legally happen, autumn will be officially underway. Having recently signed Mo Bamba, the Orlando Magic can’t trade him until after October 4th.
