The Utah Jazz made the decision to go for a different route this offseason, dealing Rudy Gobert to the Minnesota Timberwolves first, and now are reportedly trying to send Donovan Mitchell away to enter a full rebuilding process. They have more veterans on the roster that could be dealt soon like Mike Conley, Bogdan Bogdanovic, and more.
Meanwhile, they are still trying to find a trade partner for Mitchell, but the team's asking price for the All-Star guard might be a big obstacle to getting it done. The New York Knicks remain favorites to land Mitchell, but nothing is certain right now.
On the other end, the Jazz are reportedly working to get some deals done around the league, even if they don't involve Mitchell. That's the case with Cleveland Cavaliers guard Collin Sexton, who is a serious candidate for Utah this offseason. According to Sam Amico of Hoops Wire, the Jazz are still trying to get a deal completed for Sexton via sign-and-trade with the Cavs.
“Nonetheless, the Cavs remained active in talks, and it’s pretty clear the Jazz have a strong interest in Collin Sexton, the restricted free agent who remains unsigned,” Amico wrote.
