Ask yourself this question: if you were an NBA superstar, would you want to play in front of your hometown crowd?

The instinctual answer may be yes for most. It’s easy to envision yourself performing in front of family and friends. Furthermore, even the strangers in the audience will love you a little more as a hometown hero.

At the same time, ask yourself a follow-up question: did you live in your hometown for your whole life? If you did, that’s fine – but don’t dismiss the value in broadening your horizons.

This was a struggle Anthony Davis faced on the New Orleans Pelicans. He knew he wanted a change of scenery – he made that very publically known.

To most onlookers, it looked like his preferred destination was the Los Angeles Lakers, but his hometown Chicago Bulls did appear to be in the running.

We all know what happened next. Davis landed in tinsel town and won an NBA championship. With that said, his Lakers now appear to be falling apart at the seams. Is it too late for Davis to find his way home?
