Alabama stays hot on the recruiting trail, this time landing a commitment from the No. 1 junior college prospect for the class of 2023 in Malik Benson. The Hutchinson Community College (Kan.) standout picked the Crimson Tide over Georgia, LSU, Oregon, and Tennessee.
“I think just what stands out to me is year after year they’re a winning program,” Benson said earlier in the summer. “And my position, receiver, the last three or four years, the receivers they’ve put out, they’ve had great success. What they did with DeVonta Smith, a Heisman winner at receiver. That’s a key factor. What they do, who they produce, stuff like that.”
Benson becomes the second wide receiver to join Alabama’s 2023 class, joining Cole Adams, who committed to the program last month.
