Iowa received good news on Monday as Naples (Fla.) three-star running back Kendrick Raphael announced his commitment to Iowa. Raphael, who is listed as a four-star running back on the 247Sports Composite, picked the Hawkeyes over NC State, BYU, and others.

Raphael is the 11th commit in Iowa's 2023 class and is the first running back commit for the Hawkeyes in this class. Iowa took two running backs in the 2022 class in three-stars Kaleb Johnson and Jaziun Patterson.

Last fall as a junior, Raphael carried the ball 126 times for 1,374 yards (10.9 yards per carry) and 18 touchdowns, while leading Naples to a 10-1 record.
