Arch Manning's official visit slate kicked off at Georgia this past weekend, and the Bulldogs made a strong first impression on the Class of 2023's No. 1 national recruit. This week on the 247Sports Football Recruiting Podcast, Dawgs247's Kipp Adams provided a closer look at how UGA and head coach Kirby Smart made a case for the New Orleans Isidore Newman five-star quarterback.

Adams' outlook Tuesday followed what Manning's head coach, Nelson Stewart, told 247Sports director of recruiting Steve Wiltfong Monday.

"He had a great time with everything he did with his dad," Stewart said of Manning. "He loves Athens, he loves the coaches, he likes the players, I think the whole experience. He's gone back and they're doing a great job recruiting him. He's enjoyed every trip he’s had there. All positive. Every time he goes, all the layers."

With Alabama and Texas chief among others in pursuit, where does Georgia stand? Here is how Adams summed up a big weekend for the Bulldogs, including Manning's recruitment.

WHAT HAVE WE HEARD ABOUT GEORGIA'S IMPRESSION, STANDING WITH NO. 1 PLAYER IN CLASS OF 2023?

"They spent over two days in Athens. His father Cooper was there with him. They met with the Georgia staff. They've been there multiple times. This is Visit 5 or 6 for him. So they've seen everything Georgia has to offer. This weekend was really just about finding that fit, 'What would it be like if we do go to Georgia?' Kirby Smart was pretty smart and savvy making sure that he had some commitments in town. And not just any commitments — he made sure that the pass catchers that Georgia has on board right now in Pearce Spurlin, the four-star tight end, top-100 prospect from Florida; Raymond Cottrell, another wide receiver from Milton, Florida, another top-100 prospect; and then Lawson Luckie, another four-star tight end that Todd Hartly seems to continue to stack that position room.

"But Kirby Smart wanted to make sure that he had those guys in town to let Arch know, 'This is where we're going to be the next three years, and we want to catch passes from you.' So he had that familiarity there. He made sure that he was spending time with Oscar Delp, the freshman tight end that's already on campus and showed out in Georgia's spring game. So they put their best foot forward and Kirby Smart made sure that he set time to spend with Arch and his father each day during the official visit. And before they left, they talked for over an hour on Sunday before the official visit was over.
