Talking about James Harden’s future with the Philadelphia 76ers should feel absurd. He’s spent all of half an NBA season with the franchise.
Somehow, it doesn’t. Harden made a home in Houston for eight seasons, but he’s had trouble settling since. His tenure in Brooklyn was miss-it-if-you-blink short. If things go south in the City of Brotherly Love, who’s to say he won’t force another exit?
At this stage in Harden’s career, it seems as if rings are the priority. He’s accomplished virtually every individual achievement there is. He’s surely aware that his legacy will be tarnished if he doesn’t win at the highest level.
As it stands, the 76ers may give him the best odds of doing so. Joel Embiid is playing MVP-level basketball. They’ve got a strong supporting cast.
On paper, they should be serious contenders. Yet, with the team holding a narrow 3-2 lead on the Toronto Raptors as of this writing, questions persist.
Here are 3 teams who should hope that his time with the 76ers is short-lived.
Denver Nuggets
The Philadelphia 76ers have James Harden paired with one of the two best centers in the NBA.
