Last fall, LSU running back and former five-star recruit John Emery Jr. was ruled academically ineligible and missed the entire 2021 season. The good news for the Tigers is that he will see plenty of action in the team’s upcoming spring game.

In his press conference ahead of the LSU spring game, Kelly was asked about whether the team would limit Emery, or even keep him out entirely. Kelly made it very clear that would not be the case.

“No,” Kelly said. “We’re going to play him.”

Earlier in spring practice, Kelly said that he was pleased with how much progress Emery had made since he arrived in Baton Rouge.
