Arsenal are exploring the possibility of signing striker Gabriel Jesus from Manchester City in the summer transfer window, The Athletic understands.

Discussions between Arsenal’s technical director Edu and Jesus’s representatives are believed to have been taking place for a number of months and the 25-year-old is thought to be open to the prospect.

Arsenal are looking to strengthen their attack in the upcoming market and Jesus — who joined City from Palmeiras in 2016 — is one potential acquisition.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Everton’s 25-year-old striker, is also among the options being considered.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta worked with Jesus in his previous role at City and sources view the North London club as current favourites to recruit him.
