The Memphis Grizzlies may have been the feel-good story of the 2021-22 NBA season. They made several moves last summer that would befit a rebuilding team. Somehow, they won 56 games en route to the Western Conference’s second seed anyway.

Sustaining that level of success won’t be easy. The Western Conference is unforgiving. The Nuggets will expect the returns of Jamal Murray and Michael Porter Jr. The Clippers will be healthy again. The Suns and Warriors will still exist.

Making a move to upgrade would be wise. In particular, this club could use more varied offensive options alongside supernova point guard Ja Morant. Depending on how the postseason unfolds, they may look at some win-now veterans this summer.

Of course, they’ll need the Utah Jazz to play ball. If these playoffs don’t go well for them, that feels likely. They’re a strong candidate to host a fire sale this summer. If they do, here’s one trade they could make with the Memphis Grizzlies.

Utah Jazz Receive: G Dillon Brooks, F Santi Almada, 2025 Second-Round Pick

Memphis Grizzlies Receive: F Bojan Bogdanovic, G Nickeil Alexander-Walker

Again, the premise here is that the Utah Jazz are virtually forced to tear their team down to the studs.
