The Golden State Warriors are defying conventional wisdom. They’re operating on two timelines. Some argue that they need to pick one and commit to it with an NBA blockbuster trade.

On the one hand, a core of Jonathan Kuminga, James Wiseman, Moses Moody, and Jordan Poole surpasses the young groups of some teams that are actively rebuilding.

On the other hand, the core group of Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green remain. While time has weathered each to some extent, all three still operate at an extremely high level.

Whether they’ve got enough left to win an NBA championship remains to be seen.

If they don’t, it may simply be that they need some help. In that event, the Warriors may be forced to consider redeploying some of those young players. If they’re serious about competing on for another championship during Curry’s career, sitting on those assets may prove untenable.

Here’s one massive trade that could improve the team’s championship odds dramatically.

Utah Jazz Receive: F Jonathan Kuminga, C James Wiseman, F Andrew Wiggins

Golden State Warriors Receive: C Rudy Gobert

This NBA trade scenario only transpires if the Utah Jazz is forced to hit the reset button. Barring a deep postseason run, that feels like a strong possibility.
