Ohio State added a sixth player to its 2023 recruiting class Wednesday with the commitment of Malik Hartford, a four-star safety from Lakota West High School in West Chester, Ohio.

Hartford is rated the No. 146 overall player and the No. 11 safety in the 247Sports Composite. He chose the Buckeyes from a group of finalists that also included Cincinnati, Notre Dame, Michigan, Michigan State, Kentucky and West Virginia.

Hartford is the second safety commit in OSU’s 2023 class, joining four-star Florida prospect Cedrick Hawkins, and the fourth player in the class from Ohio.

Ohio State’s 2023 class is now ranked No. 6 in the country and No. 2 in the Big Ten, according to the 247Sports Composite.
