Ole Miss football quarterback Jaxson Dart enters his first spring practice with the Rebels this week in competition with Luke Altmyer for the starting job this season following the program's 10-win campaign under outgoing signal caller Matt Corral.

It's a new era at Ole Miss, hype videos are spreading like wildfire, and the USC transfer is ready for life in the SEC in a spotlighted position with the Rebels.

"This is a very open competition," Ole Miss coach Lane Kiffin said earlier this spring. "Just because the social media world and pictures and tweeting and all the stuff that we do that helps in recruiting that helps other kids see it for classes to come, it's marketing. That's why we do all of it. It doesn't mean that just because we did all of it it means Jaxson Dart is the quarterback. He's not. That's just the marketing world we're in and the use of social media, especially Twitter."

Dart played in six games for the Trojans last season, completing 61.9% of his passes for 1,353 yards, nine touchdowns and five interceptions.
