Legendary boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. took a visit to the University of Miami campus earlier this week to meet with some members of the Hurricanes’ football team and first-year coach Mario Cristobal. The 45-year-old Mayweather has not fought since 2017 and owns a professional record of 50-0, including 27 wins by knockout.
In one of the pictures shared by Miami Football’s Twitter account, Mayweather was shaking hands with Cristobal. After five seasons as the head coach at Oregon, Cristobal left the Ducks to return to Miami, his alma mater.
In other Miami football news, Cristobal could add a legend to his Hurricanes coaching staff. Former Miami Dolphins star and Pro Football Hall of Famer Jason Taylor is reportedly in talks to join Cristobal’s crew, according to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald. Taylor last played in the NFL in 2011, spending the majority of his career in South Florida.
